A Fit Of The Humbles
What a sacrifice he has made
Killing his pride on the political cross
Doing what well known good men don't always do
Many were there for their gains
Many showed up for their pride
Others came for ethnic glory
Jonathan you stood for the nation's pride
When despised
You loved the more
When hated
You cared the more
This is where you stood that special
In great wisdom that many despise
Many did speak the picture of their heart
Jonathan!
Did he not make mistakes
When did a man become a gods
If there is that much you failed to do
You failed to be as partial as good men
You failed to pursue your pride as gods
You failed to spill the blood of the innocents
You failed to feed the desires of fanatics
You failed to bow to homogods
You failed to seek the vain glory of men
You fail to incite men to violence
You failed to oppress the poor for the rich
And because you failed the homogods
You've stood taller than them now
With a crown much precious than treasures
What a man
What a man Goodluck Jonathan
Before your very eyes
You see it happened
In the face of hatred
You stood and say fair play
At a daring tribal sentiments
You stood and say brothers
Even when they just couldn't reason that way
The same men you honoured
The same men that dishonoured you
The very men you loved
The same men that hated you
Out there against the foes
Brothers roars against you
Laying siege behind you
Praying more you should fall
Yet you triumph over it all
With a great victory
Beyond compares
May it be written on the face of the sun
That you are a man of peace
May the whole world hear
That you stood above them all
All they that hated you
And all they that despised you
May your generation learn this humility
May the generation of our leaders
Learn this humility
May the nation unite
As your single mind
May the lofty eyes
Learn this true understanding
May the anthems sing
Of how you conquered pride
May this your sacrifice
Be never forgotten
