Supreme Court Sacks Hembe Again By Terfa Naswem

The struggle to reclaim the membership of the House of Representatives for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency of Benue State by Herman Hembe proved abortive as the Supreme Court reaffirmed its stance on his sack. Hembe was sacked earlier by the Supreme Court and ordered INEC to issue the Certificate of Return to Hon. Mrs. Dorothy Mato as the rightful person to occupy the position.

Hembe approached the Supreme Court again so that the court could refer the case to a lower court for retrial after the apex court had ordered him to vacate his former position and return all the money which he collected since he was inaugurated as the member of the House of Representatives in 2015.

The Supreme Court ordered Hembe to pay the sum of One million naira to Hon. Mrs. Dorothy Mato who in this case was the defendant.

Hon. Mrs. Mato, this good news of your reaffirmation by the Supreme Court as the rightful person to represent the people of Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency has brought enormous joy to your supporters who cavorted and caroused when they heard the good news.

We all congratulate you on this memorable victory once again. You are a complaisant woman who has the tenacity to do good at all times and the people of Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency will continue to reverence you.

You are a prudent leader who has irrefutable probity and accountability that has given you an edge over most of your contemporaries, not just in Vandeikya/Konshisha and Benue State but Nigeria at large.

May the infallible God who has seen you through your darkest moments in politics guide, protect and give you the strength to give the people of Vandeikya and Konshisha extraordinary representation so that there will be no comparison to you and you will receive approbation for your good work and forever leave indelible mark in their hearts.
