Lesson From Mother and Baby Eagles

When a mother eagle builds her nest, she starts with thorns, broken branches, sharp rocks and other unsuitable items. She lines it with a thick padding of wool, feathers and fur from animals she has killed, making it soft and comfortable for the eggs.

When the growing birds reach flying age the comfort of the nest makes them reluctant to leave. The mother eagle begins to stir the nest, pulls up the carpet of fur and feathers thus bringing the sharp rock and branches to surface to make the nest uncomfortable for the young eagles.

Eventually, this and other urgings prompt the growing eagles to leave their once comfortable abode and move on to a higher life.
Suffering brings out the best in man. Suffering comes out with great opportunities. It promotes spiritual maturity.

Like the case of Joseph in Egypt, it proves our integrity and forces us to look up to God. Whatever God permits in our lives, will surely work out for our good at last.

Suffering is not to suffocate us but to strengthen us. God help us not to suffer in vain. Amen.
