Nigeria Jails 60 Biafran Separatists

On Monday, 60 supporters of the Biafra separatist movement were imprisoned by court order in the southeastern Nigerian state of Abia. The order is part of a growing government crackdown against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group calling for southeastern Nigeria to break away and form an independent country.

Currently, the entire Alaigbo is already under siege even before the start of the Python of the Opera dance-drama.

Saraki Calls For Caution On Tension In Plateau, South East

Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has urged all Nigerians to maintain peace and avoid statements or actions that can threaten the peace of the nation.

Commenting on developments in the South-east where there were reported clashes between the military and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as well as the ethnic crisis in Plateau State, Saraki in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) advised Nigerians to remain calm and not do anything that would aggravate the tension in some parts of the country.

BIAFRA: WHERE THEY ALL GOT IT WRONG By Terfa Naswem

Some events in Nigeria never stop to baffle me. Where were all the South East governors when the self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and his cohorts were engaged in activities that are against national and social mores? The South East governors did not make any conscious attempt to call the self-acclaimed “paradigm” of the IPOB to order. Their sane red caps never functioned well at those points but rejuvenated when Operation Python Dance swung into action to subdue the situation.

Biafra protesters move to Lagos as Court strikes out charge against Kanu

ABUJA— An Abuja Chief Magistrate Court, yesterday, struck out the one-count criminal charge the Federal Government preferred against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.
