Kemi Egbukole, an Abuja-based woman is presently facing charges for reportedly pouring hot water on her 16-year-old house help’s breasts.

Premium Times reports that the 36-year-old woman has been caught on several occasions molesting the young girl but she went too far with her recent attack on the teenager.

The victim, Hope David, had her beasts badly burnt because she refused to wake up early to do her house chores, and police sources say her boss, who is also being investigated for child abuse and trafficking offences by the national human rights commission and national agency for the prohibition of trafficking in persons, would be charged after concluding investigations.

In her confession, the Egbukole said she attacked her maid because she did not wake up early after initially saying she did not commit the said act.

Lambert Oparah, the deputy director, protection and investigations, National Human Rights Commission, said the mother of two claimed the attack was an accident, adding that the young girl was immediately taken out for treatment. Share on Facebook

“She was taken to a chemist, they put plasters around her breast which was not quite good,” Oparah added.

Speaking also on the matter, some people in the neighbourhood at their Minta 1 Estate, Lokogoma, Abuja, confirmed that the woman had been notorious for child abuse, and had previously attacked Hope with dangerous objects including rods with the most recent occurring on March 3.

An unnamed eyewitness who reported the case to the human rights commission and NAPTIP said she took the decision after seeing the serious injury inflicted on Hope’s breast.

She said: “She ran out of the house and came to my side. Mrs Egbukole was still trying to flog her with a mop stick.

“I thought it was just water and pepper, or something, until the girl screamed back again in my room and I shouted, ‘What!’ the breast has pilled already.

“So I shouted and said ‘Come you did this thing to this girl and you still want to flog her again? “I will report you to the police and NAPTIP; at that point she started begging and immediately she started telling lies.”
