Several Injured As Thugs Storm Polling Unit In Enugu

Several voters have been left with varying degrees of injuries as a group of unidentified assailants stormed a polling unit in Igbo-Eze South, Local Government Area of Enugu State in the afternoon of Saturday, April 11, 2015.


Some of the electorates alleged that security officials helped the thugs believed to be politically oriented.

According to Daily Post, the incident occurred at the Community Primary School, Itchi, the hometown of Barr. Okey Ezea, the APC governorship candidate.

A resident whose identity was not disclosed said, “They stormed this place shooting sporadically and hitting our people with broken bottles and machetes.”

It was further gathered that police officials numbering above 50 were headed towards the area to possibly restore normalcy as at the time of the report.
