Officials of the Association made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola, saying their members were committed to contributing their quota toward curbing insurgency in the country.
Philips James, the Secretary of the hunters association, said "we need the peoples' support and prayers. We also need government's assistance in this assignment.''
James urged the public to be vigilant and be security conscious, as well as prayerful for victory over the insurgents.
Suleiman Namtari, the Administration officer of the Association, who also urged for sustained support to the hunters, said they were confident of victory by the grace of God.
Namtari also called for government's assistance, particularly in areas of logistics and cartridges.
Meanwhile, the people of Adamawa have continued to sustain the weekly special prayers for peace and
an end to insurgency which started this month (November).
The prayers, which were being observed on sundays by both Muslims and Christians, have been described by many as a welcome development.
