Why Saraki, Dogara met VP again


For the second time this week,the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, yesterday, met with acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential Villa, Abuja. Yusuf Dogara, House of Reps speaker and Bukola Saraki, Senate President Saraki went in the company of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara whose visit  yesterday  made it the third time in the week.
The Speaker’s first time was on Monday when he visited with Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State. On Tuesday, the Senate President visited the Villa with him again. Yusuf Dogara, House of Reps speaker and Bukola Saraki, Senate President At the end of the meeting held behind closed-doors  Tuesday, Saraki told journalists that his visit was connected with the 2017 budget defense. Also, yesterday,  both leaders returned to the Villa and also met with Osinbajo behind closed doors. Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, the Senate President said that they were briefed on the state of the Nigerian troops in The Gambia. “The acting President briefed us on our troops in The Gambia and what the situation is like. And that the Navy and the Air Force will be coming back very soon. And that it is likely some troops will be left behind,” he said. It will be recalled that Osinabjo became acting President sequel to transfer of power to him by President Muhammadu Buhari who’s currently on a medical vacation in London.
