The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, says the report on the abducted Chibok girls was used to frustrate the re-election of former President, Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.Recall that over 200 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from Chibok in Borno state in 2014.
Following their abduction, the Federal Government has so far secured the release of 21 of the girls while some others were rescued during Military mop-up operations .However, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum while featuring on Channels Television programme on Sunday insisted that the Chibok girls abduction was a ruse.Stressing that the girls were acting out a script, the governor wondered why they are yet to be fully united with their families months after their release.
He said, “Chibok girls were trained to act the way they did, otherwise, why is it that for two months they are still held hostage at the hospital rather than living with their families?“I stand to say that the Chibok girls (abduction) were orchestrated to frustrate the administration of the former President. The situation of the released girls is like a ‘home theatre or movie”.On the issue of the country’s economy, the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum said President Muhammadu Buhari should be blamed, stressing that he de-marketed Nigeria among international investors.“The problem remains the body language of the President, otherwise, a sincere government can revive the economy in two years. And that we have not seen. The president does not have any economic plan that can stand the test of time,” he said.
