Lagos State  is one state you need to visit if you are in Nigeria

The ever splendour city that would blow your mind with its beauty and constant activities. lots of tourists prefer to make this city their first stop into the country. There are many fun places you could visit while in this beautiful city

Another reason why you would enjoy this city is because of its prospects. No matter what you produce, you can be sure you will have it sold. People from all walks of life come into this city to invest and change their lucks. Some come in to relax and enjoy and explore the city's potential when it comes to recreational activities.
As a result of the various activities that go on in this city, there is need for one to be security conscious. Lagos, like every other major city in the world experiences its own fair share of crimes. Now, no one is trying to scare you but there is the need for you to be sensitive whenever you are in this city.
There are a thousand and one ways to get into trouble while trying to have fun in this city. The word caution should not be a vague term if you are a Lagosian. People who live in  Lagos are smart people. They know the implication of 'dulling'. Find below some of the best ways to stay safe in Lagos:
1. Unnecessary sight-seeing
There are so many interesting things you are bound to see in Lagos. Everyday is full of dramas in this city. While you may be distracted by gathering mobs or tempted to watch some display in the streets, be careful to hold your valuables closely. While you get carried away with the euphoria of the event that has distracted you, there are some onlookers who are not as distracted as you are. Your properties could get stolen that very moment. Thus, avoid unnecessary sight-seeing that may put you at risk.
 2. Check before entering buses
If you are visiting Lagos for the first time or you are a Lagosian, there is the need for you to be extra careful when you step out daily. There are some buses that you do not want to enter; these buses could be full of thugs and rogues who could strip you of your valuables or in worse cases, kidnappers and ritualists. In order not to fall victim of the much talked about 'one chance', then you need to watch the faces of the people you see in a bus before jumping into it. As soon as a person's appearance makes you feel unsettled, please wait for another bus.
3. Avoid certain areas at nights
There are certain areas that are considered high risks areas. You do not want to be in these areas at certain times in the night. Residents of areas like these know the rules and do not flout them for any reason. If you are a visitor, then it would be best to move around with someone who knows the dos and don'ts of the city pending the time you get a grip of things.

4. Be security conscious always
While you are in Lagos, you can avoid being in danger by being security conscious. Study the environment you are in carefully and do not fail to make mental notes of things you see there. Do not assume everything is normal when you see people scurrying out of a place. If you are not a detective on duty, do not make it your duty to walk into danger by playing out the role of 007. Anywhere you are, try to locate the possible exits in that place before you settle down. Awareness is a tool that would always give you an edge over everyone.
5. Avoid displaying your valuables
This city is not the place to call or draw unnecessary attention to yourself if you want to be as safe as possible. Avoid displaying your valuables when you are out as this would make you stand out from the crowd and put you at risk of being mobbed or robbed. We are not trying to scare you but the economic situation does not permit the populace to take their eyes off valuables. People bare desperate and hungry; avoid being flashy in order not to tempt the thief.
6. Ask questions

No man is an island; whenever you feel lost in the city, do not hesitate to ask for help. Ask questions from the sane people you see around. A roadside seller will always help you out. Do not feel embarrassed about not knowing a place.
Even Lagosians do not know all the nooks and crevices of the state. Be polite as you ask questions in order to get the best out of them. They will guide you and tell you the paths you could thread in order to be safe.
 7. Wipe off lost looks from your faces
As much as we do not want to scare you, we need to inform you that some people in this city are opportunists. They are always on the lookout for innocent and lost people. They seize the opportunity to swindle people of their valuables.
While you are trying to navigate your way in this highly populated city, avoid looking lost. The moment you act funnily, they would know you are a 'JJC' and treat you as one. This means you could get duped easily and pay ten times for a service they may be rendering you.
