Igbo Residents In FCT Slaughter Cow To Celebrate Buhari’s Victory

It was a weekend of celebration in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) amongst Igbo residents who could not hide their joy over the outcome of the presidential election that led to the emergence of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as the President-elect of Nigeria.

The Igbo group under the auspices of Ndieze Udo Association slaughtered a giant cow at Kubwa village in the FCT to celebrate the victory of the President-elect, saying that they were doing it to express their joy over the outcome of the election, which they described as God granting the wish of the people.

Speaking at the occasion, the presiding officer of the association, Ezeudo, Dr. Uche Egenti, described Gen. Buhari’s victory as the will of God, saying the change has become inevitable to address the socio-economic woes the nation is passing through at the moment.

They adviced Gen. Buhari to be a bridge builder and carry everybody along, and that he should instill the culture of discipline and excellence in the polity, saying that it will reawakened the tradition of discipline in the civil service and the public sector of the economy.

“Those who managed our economy will realized they are working with a man with zero tolerance for any form of lackluster, including other arms of the government. I think it is even glaring, the moment he won election things started getting better at the Stock-market.

“The Dollar exchange started picking while investors started pumping-in investments to demonstrate confidence and trust in the President-elect, while the overwhelming congratulatory messages coming from within and outside Nigeria say it all that Gen. Buhari is the choice, including those who worked against him in the cause of the election now see that they have no justification doing that,” he said.

According to Egenti, they believe that the time for change has come, that the name Mohammadu Buhari connotes discipline and the fight against corruption, saying that they fell this is the area where Goodluck Jonathan has done wrong.
